For a full refurbishment, patient monitors must undergo a number of processes performed by skilled biomedical technicians. For example, damaged or worn parts such as the housing, plug, cords, fuses, tubes and hoses must be replaced. Parts appropriate to the particular monitor must also either be repaired or replaced, including motors, pumps, fans, compressors, sample elbows, paw tee, scavenger tee, finger sensors, and temperature probes.
